Tobacco Products Directive and what this means for customers of E-Liquid World
As you may be aware as of 20th May 2016 the UK vaping industry will be under new regulations as part of the TPD (Tobacco Products Directive). Some of these new rules will seriously impact on what types of tanks and clearomizers you will be able to buy in future and will also restrict E-Liquid flavours, bottle sizes to 10ml and nicotine strengths to a maximum of 20mg. We have already received notification from Hangsen that their range of flavours will become very limited due to the TPD as it will not be financially viable to continue to produce the less popular flavours given the costs involved in making TPD compliant E-Liquids.
Rules on E-Liquids and Tanks will not start to take effect until 20th November 2016 however as of today 20th May 2016 advertising of E-Cigarettes and E-Liquids is severly restricted and will be banned completely on Television, Radio and Digital Marketing.
As a result of this all discount codes & special offers will be removed from the site with immediate effect as these could be classified as 'promotion' which is now also prohibited under the TPD.
With immediate effect we will no longer be able to process orders for any customers to an address outside of the UK. Please email us at email@example.com for further information and possible alternatives.
One last chance to save Vaping as we know it
There may be a glimmer of hope in the form of a member of the House of Lords attempting to pass a 'fatal motion' which if successful will stop parts of the TPD being applied to E-Cigarettes & E-Liquids.
A petition as been raised to support this, therefore we would urge all our customers to please sign the petition. Simply click the link below and you will be taken to the petition.
More details about the proposed motion can be found here: http://www.ecigarettedirect.co.uk/ashtray-blog/2016/05/house-of-lords-tpd.html
